The Budget Hydrating Primer by Gosh Cosmetics

Now I love matt lipsticks and I do go go on about them quite a bit and if I had my way I would wear a matt red lipstick every day but sadly my husband wouldn’t be as happy. Gosh cosmetics are always bringing out new collections and shades and this A/W season its the Gosh velvet touch matt lipstick shades with a new favourite red of mine that I will be most likely keeping in my personal stash.

I am rarely a fan of a primer unless its hydrating on the skin unless the person has an oily complexion because the skin  just feels to dry and doesn’t get its glow on. When it comes to my complexion hydrating is all I go for because I need all the hydration I can get. Gosh are launching a Spring collection including the Gosh Primer plus blur protect hydration primer (R210) which I am excited about as it doesn’t break the bank, skin feels great but will also ensure your foundation lasts longer on those hot days.

Gosh is always a brand that is fresh and fun and even though its a bit more geared towards younger girls I can have fun with some colour too. With Spring not too far away now its time to start thinking of changing up your makeup and adding some pops of colour into your makeup routine. Even though the palette has some out there colours you can work it subtly that can really look so pretty.

The last two weeks I have literaly painted every single AW14 makeup trend between shooting Grazia dn Elle beauty I have done about 25 trend looks which got me to thinking about creating one of them for you guys on a budget. Gosh is one brand that is always current with the colours and I just love the quality and texture and the best thing of all is you won’t break the bank.

In a recent drop from Gosh cosmetics I got to play with some of their new products and share with you what I thought. I am especially loving the shimmer metallic eyeshadow pens to create a quick and easy smokey eye. I have been a fan of this budget brand since it launched in SA they have lots of great quality products that won’t break the bank.

Gosh Velvet Touch EyelinersBudget brand Gosh introduced these gorgeous Velvet Touch Eyeliners a while back to their makeup range giving other budget brands a run for their money.  I luckily got my hands on these 3 of latest additions and have been playing around with the pencils to see just how the look and feel.

Gosh Liners 1

The waterproof pencils retail at R99 each, these latest shades are Fashionita which I am sporting in the pic below, I Sea You which is the green shade and Temptation a deep purple shade. These pencils glide on with no effort at all and are highly pigmented with ingredients such as Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil. I love that the liner has a shimmer making this look perfect for night time giving an easy edgy look without spending a total fortune. Plus they have amazing staying power so you can go out without worrying if your eyeliner will be half way down your face.

Gosh Liners 3I love anything blue and its a definite shade for me as it makes the colour of my eyes pop. Using a coloured liner is a great way to make your look more modern without it looking to heavy. A big trend right now is that easy no effort makeup, eyeliner is the easiest way to achieve that look plus its just cool.

Gosh Kiss Me 2

Gosh Kiss Me Lip Balm

Gosh is launching these gorgeous 3 in 1 lip balms just before Valentine’s and I got 2 of them in the post with a packet of Love Hearts in the post. They are a limited edition Kiss Me Moisturising Lip Balms that are pigmented like a lipstick, moisturising like a lip balm and shine’s like a gloss.

There are 6 shades to choose from Innocent Kiss (natural/nude), First Kiss (light Pink), Flirty Kiss (orange), Sweet Kiss (bright pink), Irresistible Kiss (deep red) and Hot Kiss (hot red) priced at R99 each so a great budget product. These lip balms are so hydrating and moisturising on the lips and are supposed to improve the skin protection barrier and are perfume and paraben free. They will be available at Edgars or Red Square from early Feb. Gosh Kiss Me 3I love how the balm feels on my lips and I love the shine once applied. Here is a pic of me with Flirty Kiss on:

For those of you who don’t know the brand Gosh its a trendy Danish brand that hit South African shores this year. I have previously blogged about some products and I definitely can say I really like what I have tried so far. I received their latest blush and mascara last week so thought I would give them a try on my night out.

The blush has 4 colours and has a real silky velvet finish. Its not heavy at all and feels really nice on the skin and gives a pretty pop of colour. I opted for the pink shade to give my face a pretty healthy glow. Definitely a great blush for spring/summer.

The blush is called Pink Pie and has 4 unique blends of silky powder particles, Mica and a skin conditioning agent combined with the ultra fine rounded powder particles gives that smooth velvet finish.photo-74 copy 2

The Mascara is their new Boomtastic XXL Volume Mascara and I thought I would give it a try with my very subtle smokey eye so as to open up my lashes and give my sad lashes some extreme volume. The applicatior is easy to use and applies a generous amount of mascara definitely giving me some volume.photo-74 copy 3

I really like this brand and its very well priced and they have a big range of products plus skincare too. I have also tried their serum prior to applying foundation which I love and will post about that this week. The products are available in SA in selected Edgars and Redsquare shops and in the UK in Superdrug.

Hope you enjoyed my post. x

GOSH Cosmetics

So  I received a box of cosmetics from a new brand that has arrived in South Africa. Gosh is a trendy Danish brand that has been going for 25 years and will be sold at Edgar’s stores! As well as a cosmetic range they also have skincare and haircare products which I am looking forward to try out. Below is some of the products I got and tested.

The Natural Touch foundation was more matt in texture than I would normally use but it did leave my skin feeling smooth.

The liquid liner and black eye liner pencil I love. The pencil was very smooth and glided on easily definitely something I would use in my kit. I also really liked the mascara’s especially the Show Me Volume it made my lashes appear really full. I tried the mascara on my shoot today and it worked great it stayed on all day long and gave the lashes a lot of volume.

The dark pink lip gloss in the below picture packaging is great because it has a mirror on the side and when you open the applicator end has a light so you can apply in the dark. Great for nights out! I tested the lighter pink shade out today too on my shoot and really like it.

The Velvet Touch primer has the same texture as the Smashbox primer. I tried it out on the darker skin model in my shoot it left her skin feeling smooth and her foundation stayed on for hours.

The brow kit comes in nice packaging and it comes in 3 shades of brown and has a brow wax as well. I have yet to test it out but will definitely try on one of my shoots.

Once I receive the other foundations and shadows I will update you once I have tried them out.

Hope you enjoyed my post.
