Davines Hairspray

Davines My Go To Hairspray

Hairspray is literally one of the key items in my hair kit and I am always trying out different ones on set to see what works best but most importantly doesn’t make the hair sticky and is easy to brush out.

Davines have this Its a Medium Hairspray that smells great, gives great texture to the hair and when you brush the hair out its not hard and sticky which is my worst. Its my favourite for spritzing all over the hair and then taking my medium size tong to create that textured cool hair that you wish you had all the time.

The hairspray doesn’t leave any residue and as well as creating textured hair its also great for up does and fly aways and in this windy city we call Cape Town you need some spray to keep the locks in place. What I also love about it is that it contains natural active ingredients that has high moisturising power so that your hair stays healthy and moisturised for longer.

Retailing at R245 may seem a bit steep but unlike a lot of the drugstore hairsprays that leave your hair feeling rock hard I think its worth it.

Big hair is very on trend as seen in the AW13/14 shows. Here is how to achieve the look from one of the shows.

Apply mousse through the hair and blow dry roughly. Spritz the hair with a light weight spray and then take one inch sections  and tong with a 13mm tong and then pin the curls as you go along. Leave hair in while doing your make up or for as long as possible. Take pins out and brush through hair with a paddle brush. Smooth out the top part of your hair with a tiny amount of styling cream. To create extra volume tease the hair.
