how to create a smokey eye

There are so many ways to do a smokey eye and so many colours to choose from and no you don’t always have to go with black or brown. Last week I was shooting an editorial for Elle and they wanted a 70’s inspired look purely because 70’s fashion is back in a big way so the makeup had to match. There are also so many take’s on 70’s makeup but we went with a more luxurious look and all I used was 2 eye shadows!

Sadly the Queens Plate has come and gone it was too much fun and can’t wait till next year. For those of you who dfon’t what the event is its a horse racing event where the theme is blue and white. I got a gorgeous dress from Zara a couple months ago as it was perfect for the event and I themed my accessories with the dress so blue all the way thanks to Kaika Jewellery and the amazing Ashiana brand.

In a recent beauty shoot with photographer Justin Polkey and model Emma Menteath and we filmed a video tutorial on the last look of the shoot. Emma has her own youtube channel My Life in Pink and is also a very successful model and she asked if we could film a tutorial and a behind the scenes video (this will be live in a week or so).

So here is the video on how to create a smokey eye with black and silver:

Here are the products I used:

Mac Blacktrack Fluidline Gel Liner
Mac Eyeshadow in Carbon Shanaz
YSL Pure Chromotics Eyeshadow Palette in No 10 – Silver shade
Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara

Hope you enjoy the video. x
