One of my favourite brands Lancome celebrates 80 years this year, its a brand that is linked with amazing and beautiful role models to help represent what Lancome is all about. Even more exciting is that one of my idol makeup artists Lisa Eldridge is now the new creative director. The brand is all about impeccable French style and a celebration of femininity with countless innovative skincare products, beautiful fragrances and amazing makeup products.
Lancome Grandiose Mascara
As you all know I am a mascara addict, its my go to product no matter what and I pretty much never leave home without a coat or two on my lashes. So when the Lancome Grandiose Mascara landed on my desk I couldn’t wait to test this one out.
Firstly I absolutely love the packaging which automatically makes me want to try the mascara even more (love the flower), plus I love the applicator as its really easy to hold and its triangle shaped sides ensures you really get a good grip.
Its the first mascara that I have ever tried and that is on the market that has the swan neck wand at a 25 degree angle, and its basically the perfect shape to get right in there and coat all the lashes without any smudging or wrestling with the applicator. What I love about the mascara is that it gets all the lashes and creates a beautiful curl opening up the eyes, which is basically what I look for in a mascara and because I have non exsistent lashes and need all the help I can get.
The trick with the wand is to apply with each side of the wand so start from facing upwards and then grip the next triangle until you end up downwards to get the full impact of the mascara and get the length and the volume.
The Lancome Grandiose Mascara has a blacker than black pigment which is qyuick drying so you need to work fast when you applying. Enriched with native Rose Cell Extract the mascara also nourishes lashes at the same time.
Its already in stores retailing at R399 it is pricey but if you love mascara and you are happy to invest in as many mascara’s as you can get your hands on then you will enjoy using this one.
Will feature in a tutorial soon so you can see it in action.
Love love love these liquid liners that are launching this month in SA retailing at R305. Among the shades I got my hands my favourite is the Colbalt Blue shade called Sapphire although I really love the Turquoise and the Jade too.
The trends we have seen for the Spring/Summer trends are bold graphic eyes and pops of colour and lancome has introduced these liners making them right on trend and they are also a great alternative to the traditional black. The liners are a perfect way to freshen up your make up look with a dewy skin finish and a nude lip.
The 24 Hour liner doesn’t streak and is pretty easy to apply, but make sure you prep your lid first either with foundation or a primer to get an even and smooth application. The liner has a wet vinyl finish that lasts, won’t smudge and is waterproof. I like that the liner dries immediately after you apply unlike some liners that smudge on the crease of the eye when you open your eyes.
Here is a pic of the Sapphire shade that I am wearing in the photo’s it has a precision tip foam applicator:
Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend.
Get Your Glow On with Lancome
So I have been testing out the Lancome Dream Tone for the past 7 weeks and I absolutely love how my skin looks once I apply but combine it with their new foundation that is launching next year its an amazing combination to get beautiful glowing skin. Here is a pic of me after using both products:
If you follow my blog you know I am always seeking for products that will make my skin look amazing and give that beautiful glowing dewy finish. These 2 products combined are seriously my new best friends. So here is more on the DreamTone and Teint Visionnaire:
DreamTone: Its Lancome’s new ultimate dark spot corrector and beautiful skin tone creator and comes in 3 shades. I have been testing out no 2 medium skin tone for the last 7 weeks. I apply every morning after I have done my skin care routine and before applying my foundation. The DreamTone for me is a great product for the brightening effect I don’t think it lightened my pigmentation just yet but it definitely left my skin looking absolutely beautiful, feeling good and has for sure evened out my skin tone by the time it comes to applying my make up. Each shade is meant to work on different skin tones and problem areas so the light tone deals with redness and the dark shade deals with blemishes. The one I tested was for dark spots, uneven skin tone and sallowness and I can say for myself my skin definetly seems brighter. The product promises that after a while of using the DreamTone serum you will be able to go out the house wearing no make up. I think if you have a bit of a tan then maybe as it leaves the skin really glowing. The serum contains antioxidants and a triple action technology which has allowed them to tailor make each specific need of each skin type. Whether it treats all these problems I think more time will be needed to test out.
Teint Visonnaire Skin Perfecting Make Up Duo: I love love love this foundation and concealer. I tried it out this weekend with the DreamTone and I was so happy with the dewy finish and the beautiful glow.
The foundation launches in SA in February and is their new vision of high perfection foundation. The 2 in 1 helps combine perfect coverage with a natural finish. The high coverage corrector is enriched with Vitamn CG, it has a creamy texture and is amazing at covering dark circles, blemishes and pigmentation. The foundation promises to even out the complexion and visbly improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The foundation is enriched with LR2412, the active ingredient integrated into the Visionnaire skincare.
To apply use you fingers and dab in concealer under eyes, around the nose, and on any blemishes and pigmentation and then apply a foundation onto the back of your hand apply onto each area on the face the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin and then massage in to get the flawless finish. This foundation is definitely my new best friend for me and on set.

Lancome In Love
Lancome have brought out this Limited edition collection In Love with beautiful Emma Watson being the face of the collection. Its perfect for spring and I am loving the colours with mixes of pinks, purple’s and orange. I managed to get my hands on one of the blushes no 20 Pomettes D’Amour which is pink on the outside and a coral in the middle and one of the shimmer eyeshadows. The collection consists of a mist, blushes, lipsticks, pretty shimmery eyeshadows and eyeliners and nail polish all in pretty packaging. Prices range from R270 to R475.
I have been using the blush quite a bit on set as it gives a beautiful flushed cheek and an amazing pop of colour. Check out the beautiful Ines behind the scenes on last week’s shoot her cheeks look gorgeous:
If you are a big fan of Lancome then you will love this range. Its very pretty and perfect for Spring!

So September is almost at its end and have gotten my hands on some new products which I have been absoloutely loving and have blogged about a some of them in my product reviews. Each month I find I love certain products so here is what are my favs for the month of September:
Nars Luminous Moisture Cream – Big backstage in the SS14 fashion weeks, of course needed it for my kit. I love this cream it is very light and melts into the skin leaving a beautiful luminous glow and is a perfect canvas for prepping the skin before applying the foundation. LOVE
Lancome Blush In Love no 20 – A beautiful two toned blush with a shimmer pink and a shimmer coral, this blush looks so beautiful on the skin for this spring weather and adds a beautiful pop of colour to the skin. Wear this blush with minimal foundation and lots of mascara and a pop of gloss on the lips.
Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara – By far the best mascara I have gotten my hands on. At the moment only available in the UK and launched at the beginning of September. Charlotte tilbury is a celebrity make up artist and launched her own make up line earlier this month. This mascara really is amazing. You do not have to curl the lashes just wiggle the mascara from root to tip and the lashes are automatically curled. A key staple for my pro kit.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eyeshadow – I blogged about this eyeshadows earlier this month. I absoloutely love them my favourite shade for the moment is Bad to be Bronzed but they really are great quality products. They are so easy to apply either use your finger tips or a flat brush. They lasdt for ages and can be worn alone or as a base for your eyeshadow. I personally love them on their own.
Mac Mineralise Skinfinish in Lightscapade – I discovered this highlighter after watching a Mac make up tutorial. I love the Mineralise Skinfinishes any way and this one really is beautiful for lighter to medium skintones. A beautiful highlighter for luminous skin!
Hope you enjoyed my post. x
Must Have: Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara
I have been wanting to try this mascara for a while and always heard such amazing reviews. Nina who does the PR for Lancome in South Africa kindly sent me one. I absoloutely love it so much so that its one mascara I definitely reach for on my photoshoots.
The applicator is cone shape and gets all the lashes with one coat and I found it really extended them and opened them up without me having to curl the lashes. To get the best out of the mascara make sure you get to the root of your lashes and wiggle the applicator when applying.
You can see in the image below of the gorgeous Emma how beautiful the mascara looks and I didn’t curl her lashes:
For those of you who are already a fan of the Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara there is currently a limited edition mascara in Edgars stores nationwide. Lancome have collaborated with Alber Elbaz the creative Director at Lanvin to design the packaging to create the Hypnose Show. I absolotuely love the packaging so if you are a make up addict then go get yours.
Here is a video from Lancome promoting the collaboration:
