I am definitely a lover of all things fashion and the great thing with my job is that I get to do hair and makeup and be surrounded by fashion all day long. I recently did the hair and makeup for Thalia Strates look book shoot and I fell in love with her hand made hand bags on the spot. Thalia has brought out her latest collection of super cool bags that you can order to how you want and mix and match.
My shoot yesterday was all about the bronzed sun kissed glow with a Giselle Bundchen kind of vibe. I had 3 very gorgeous girls to work with Jenna, Emma and Thias but all very different. The last model Thias is Brizalian so she already had that sunkissed skin glow going on but I still had to create for all 3 using different products.
I am busy doing an amazing makeup course with Val Garland one of the rock star makeup artists and this week we have been focusing on our pro kits. It got me to thinking what are the key items I can't live without and its boiled down to items that really have multiple uses and allow you to be a bit creative.
There are so many ways to do a smokey eye and so many colours to choose from and no you don't always have to go with black or brown. Last week I was shooting an editorial for Elle and they wanted a 70's inspired look purely because 70's fashion is back in a big way so the makeup had to match. There are also so many take's on 70's makeup but we went with a more luxurious look and all I used was 2 eye shadows!
In the April Issue of Elle Magazine I did makeup for one of the main fashion editorials called Play As You Go. It was all about fashion and technology looking good while out and about. We wanted the nails to look amazing so used the Essie After School Boy Blazer a beautiful dark navy blue that really made all the technology stand out.
