I have been waiting for Glossier to finally hit SA and ladies you can now get your hands on the Glossier Cloud Paint!!! I spend time each day researching on Instagram and came across an account called The Beauty Co. I am happy to announce that they are not too pricey at R250 each and trust me a little goes a long way. I made the initial mistake of squeezing a little too much out. I purchased 2 of the shades and the delivery was super efficient and quick. If you love a cream blush then these are definetly worth checking out.
When it comes to photo shoots I like to keep it simple with the skin products that I know really work. For this shoot for Truworths I used my photo shoot gorgeous skin trio that really works for me. You can add in a skin illuminator as well to add more glow if you want. I try keep my pro kit as compact as I can especially when I have to do hair as well and have a few bags to carry around. Over the last 9 years of doing makeup I have actually changed up products I use. I have narrowed it down to what works on photo shoots to create a good picture. Plus skin needs to look really good. The trio I used here is the Mac Prep and Prime Natural Radiance, Mac Face and Body Foundation and Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer.
With the festive season fast approaching its time to start thinking about your makeup. I wanted to share my bold party lip look as its so easy to do yourself. This look is a great alternative to a smokey or glittery eye and is just as effective. A bold lip is a perfect way to make statement with your makeup and stand out in the crowd. I am all about the bold lips and for me the best way to brighten up my complexion and really feel good is to wear something bright on my lips.
This coming season is all about primary bold colours to take your makeup to the next level. in this shoot I did for Elle magazine SA beauty editorial it was all about ways to wear colours to make a dramatic statement and be bang on trend.
In this video I wanted to do another trend makeup look so this week its a trend graphic eye makeup tutorial. Its all about the graphic eye but focusing on the bottom lash line rather than the usual top lash line or the lids. This look is perfect for photo shoots if you are a makeup artist and a cool look for going out at night. The rest of the mekup is really clean with all the focus on the eyes.
In the Elle trend beauty shoot I did for the May issue I was asked by the Elle team to talk through how to create the trend gloss eye for this autumn/winter. Its not an every day look but it can look really beautiful to add an extra dimension to your makeup.
To say I am beyond excited to have been part of this Elle beauty shoot would be an understatement. The editorial is all about braided hair and absoloutely flawless skin, I got to do the makeup for the shoot with Olga and April and the pictures have come out so beautifully. My brief was to create flawless beautiful skin and as you all know that is one of my favourite things to do.
This week I am sharing some basic makeup tips this is the third instalment for the week. A lot of women I come across don’t even use concealer, its one item that is key in my personal kit and one that is key for my work. So in this post I am going to break it down for you on where to conceal on your face and the difference before and after. Concealer literally takes away the darkness, redness and any blemishes creating the illusion of flawless fresh looking skin:
Here is me with foundation and no concealer as you can see I suffer from darkness under my eyes:Here you can see where I have applied the concealer under the eyes, around the nose, at the top of the nose, around the mouth:Then blend everything in combining fingers and apply to cheeks to cover any pigmentation or blemishes and under the brow bone to create a more natural highlight:
Then add a bright lipstick and there you go a fresh looking face:Tips:
Go for a concealer 1 to 2 shades lighter than your skin under your eyes, around your mouth, under the brow bone and at the top of the nose to create the light effect, but when working around the nose and on your cheeks use the same shade to match in with foundation as you don’t want areas where there is redness or blemishes to stand out because its lighter than your foundation.
Remember your skincare is really important especially under your eyes, you need a good hydrating eye cream before you apply otherwise the under eye area will be dry and the concealer won’t blend in giving you that fresh look.
Products I used was the Rimmel Wake Me Concealer and the Mac Pro Conceal and Correct Palette.

I really am a big fan of Stila products if some of you may know. There are 3 BB creams to choose from the Beauty Balm, Bronzing Beauty Balm and Illuminating Beauty Balm. I chose to review the Bronzing Beauty Balm as have been wanting to try it out for a while and the bronzed look is a big Spring/Summer trend.
The balm can be applied either to clean skin, mixed with foundation/tinted moisturiser or alternatively buff the balm in over foundation as a bronzer which also looks amazing. You can see the balm on the back of my hand is dark so if you are pale don’t apply a whole load over your face it will be too much. If you looking for a healthy glow then apply the tinest amount to the back of your hand and buff over your skin to cheat a healthy glow.
I already have a bit of a tan after my holiday so I tried applying it to straight onto my skin. At first I looked really dark but then after a while it settled into my skin and I looked really healthy. This product is definitely a great product for summer when you have a tan and want to add a little more colour . Alternatively if its winter time and you need a pick me up then use it as a bronzer. Add only a tiny amount onto the back of your hand and buff into your face with a buffing brush. Apply the balm after applying your foundation where the sun would naturally hit your face, its basically like using a powder bronzer. Another way to use the bronzing balm is mix a little in with the Stila HD Beauty Balm and then buff into skin with a buffing brush.
I really like this product it has a good consistency and leaves skin feeling really smooth as well as leaving you looking really healthy. Definitely a product that can help you stay on trend. Will post a video tutorial soon and show you all how it looks.
Hope you enjoyed the post. x
