One of my favourite movies as a child Cinderella has been turned into a live movie which I am so excited to go see and take my 5 year old daughter Tatiana. Morgan Taylor have launched a nail polish collection inspired my the movie and I got a few shades to play around with.
Every Monday I like to share under the Mani Monday feature a little nail inspiration and this week is holographic inspired.
I did a shoot last week and the brief was holographic make up nails and this is what I came up with a mixture of the Essie metallic polish in Dive Bar and Le Chat Dare to Wear on top.
The metallic shade has a holographic feel to it already but to really make the nails pop we added the glitter polish on top. All you need is to apply 2 coats of the Dive Bar and one coat of the Dare to Wear on top and then a top coat to seal it in. If its too much to have the sparkle on all the nails then go for one nail instead.
Hope you enjoyed my Mani Monday post.
So today I thought I would test out the stripe nail art trend I spotted on the catwalk last year. Its pretty easy to copy at home all you need is a white nail polish and a black acrylic striper to create the fun bit of nail art.
Of course practice makes perfect so you may have to try a few times if your hands aren’t too steady.
So all you need to do is paint 2 coats of polish and wait to dry and then take the striper and create your stripes and voila you have your stripe nail art.
So this week I am sharing the nail trends for AW14 that we have seen so far in New York, London and Milan. I am loving the nail art and the pops of colour.
What’s your favourite trend?
I love love love the bright blue nails with differnt shapes on each nail because its my current favourite shade and looks so cool. I am also a massive fan of the matt nail with the double gold half moon the two shades look amazing together.
Or if you want to keep it simple a nude with a touch of shimmer is perfect.
Each week I like share a polish I love, a trend or some really cool nail art. This week I wanted to share about the Essie Smooth Sailing polish. Its a pretty blue shimmery polish. Blue is a big trend right now for make up so if you don’t want the blue on your eyes why not try on your nails.
The polish goes on beautifully and has a subtle shimmer so its perfect for day or a party look.
On Saturday Elizabeth Arden hosted some beauty editors and bloggers for the launch of new foundation. While make up was being done there was a manicure station with a little bit of nail art for us girls. I thought this was a really fun idea. You can see from the pics that first a base coat is painted on, then a striper pen was used to create the stripes and then with a little touch of glue the bling was added onto my ring finger. Its a great way to play with nail art on just one finger and it also breaks it up nicely.
Happy nail art people.
Each week I do a quick nail share on a cool trend, nail art and inspiration and basically all things nails. My schedule has been crazy so I have quickly put together a nail idea. I love metallic nails but sometimes its too much for every day wear. So an alternative is metallic tips with a clear polish and any metallic polish will do. I have used the Essie polish in Nothing Else Metals which is a silver/purple metallic polish and the Ciate top coat. If you make a mess or want to have a clean tip then take a cosmetic bud and polish remover to create the line you want. So paint your tips and then paint over 2 costs of the clear top coat once dry and voila metallic tips.
Hope you enjoyed the post. x
So starting from today every Monday I will do a Mani Monday post on polishes I love, nail art and trend nails. I didn’t nearly cover enough nails in 2013 and 2014 is all about adding new elements to my blog.
I absoloutely love the Chanel polishes and I especially love the metallic finish of the Rouge Moire in no 595. Its a beautiful deep berry colour which is a perfect work or party polish. The metallic finish is a big trend right now and I am loving it.
