Sadly I missed the Mac SS16 presentation but luckily I got my hands on a few key items and the coveted trend book that all us makeup artists want to get our hands on. There are always 4 key trends that Mac present as well as they products for each trend. SS16 has a variety of makeup trends from the bold colours, lashes, orange/red lips, a whole load of glitter and of course the no makeup makeup trend that always seems to be in.
Colour eyeliner is on trend in a big way and if you don’t have one in your makeup stash then you need to be getting your hands on one ASAP. I personally love the blue and green liners as they are definitely the most wearable but a purple on a darker skin tone can look pretty amazing too. At the beginning of the week I posted my Elle beauty primary colours editorial where even yellow is in but to make the colour look wearable and not too out there a liner is one of the easiest ways to do it.
There are always certain items that I pack in my holiday makeup kit to enhance the tan or for a night out. Bold lips are always a must for me because they look even better with a tan and really pops making you look so healthy and fresh. My favourite combination is bronze eyes and a bright lip its a perfect way to combine an eye with a lip without taking away from the lips.
We saw some a green trend at NYFW SS16 and the blue trend that I loved so much is back at this years LFW SS16 shows but this time with a different take on it. I absolutely love the blue rimmed eyes at the Jonathan Saunders Show. Liner is a great and easy way to work your makeup and taking a blue is a great way to work the trend and making your eyes look amazing. The rest of the face can be kept clean and fresh with a pop of clear gloss on the lips.
