the look

In my recent Elle main fashion editorial I created this look. The brief was fresh dewy skin with a pop of colour on the lip. Here is how I created the look:

Face: Moisturised the skin with Dr Haushka Rose Cream and then I buffed Benefit Oxygen Wow Flawless Foundation with my Real Techniques buffing brush. I concealed under the eyes using Clinique Airbrush Concealer.

Eyes: Applied Mac Paint Pot in Bare Study on the lid up to the crease, contoured the crease using Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in Sable, then I went back over the paint pot with Inglot pigment in no 14 ,I filled in the brows using Mac eye pencils in Fling and Lingering and then applied Maybelline The One by One Volum’ Express in Black.

Contour and Highlight: I contoured under the cheek bone and jaw bone using the Smashbox Contour kit and highlighted above the cheek bone and into the temple with Mac Magically Cool Liquid Powder.

Cheeks: I applied Mac blush in Peaches.

Lips: I applied a Mac lipstick in Fusion Pink and then to create a matt effect I dabbed Mac pigment in Magneta Madness (neon pink) to the centre of the lips

Finish: By lightly duting Mac Prep & Prime translucent finishing powder on the forehead, nose and under the eyes.

Nails: Used Ciate nail polish in 3am Girl and then sprinkled multicoloured micropearls onto the wet nail and applied a top coat.

Hope you enjoyed the post.

Mac Cosmetic Trends for Spring/Summer 2013

So I have spent the last few days researching trends and what new make up products are coming out. This is a big reason why I love Mac Cosmetics because they are constantly bring out new products that are alsways so on trend and are amazing quality. For me Mac  is great for achieving beautiful skin. One of the new trends for spring/summer 2013 is beautiful skin ans Mac have nailed this look. Here are some looks from the shows using Mac Cosmetics and I will definitely do a make up tutorial on one of the looks. What I also love about Mac is they tell you what they used to create the look for the shows.

I am looking forward to trying out the  Mineralize Moisture Fluid foundation, the cream shadows, blushes and lip palettes.

For this beauty shoot for Seventeen Magazine SA it was all about hair looks. There are so many ways to achieve waves and a lot of tongs on the market to help you achieve them.

For the girl on the left I spritzed the hair with a heat protector and then hair spray so that the waves would last. To achieve the wave I used the Babyliss Wave Envy tong, take one inch sections of hair don’t tong from the root but start a quarter of the way down and apply the tong to the hair for 15/20 seconds. I sectioned the hair so that I could easily work my way up. Once I finished tonging the hair to create the volume I sprinkled the Osis Dust it powder into the roots and all over the hair and worked the hair with my hands to achieve the look I needed.

For the girl on the right I spritzed her hair with heat protector and hair spray then pin cirled her hair using a Babyliss 19mm tong . I sectioned the hair taking 1 inch pieces of hair wrap the hair around the tong for 20 seconds the pinned in place. I did this all the way up to the top of the head. Leave the hair in pin curls as long as you can preferably 30 minutes, I only took her hair down once make up was done and we were ready to shoot.
