For those of you who follow me I am a massive fan of the clean skincare brand Ren. Everything I have ever tried I have loved. So when the Ren AHA Smart Renewal Body Serum (R780) landed on my desk I was super excited to test it. Its basically a body serum with AHA’s that work with the skin to naturally exfoliate, leaving skin radiant with a natural glow.

When it comes to exfoliating my body I can be lazy at times. Using a body scrub for me can be a head ache and doesn’t always feel so comfortable. This exfoliating serum wins hands down over a scrub any day. The acid is less abrasive than the course scrubs plus the acids work on a deeper level, effectively remove the dead skin cells, increase cell turnover, unclog pores and improve hydration in the short and long term.

Firstly before I chat about the serum I want to chat about what is an AHA for those of you who don’t know. Trust me before I started blogging I didn’t have a clue at all. An AHA is Alpha Hydroxy Acid which is derived from natural substances such as sugar, milk and grapes. They work by melting the intercellular glue that holds our skin cells together, to help the skin’s natural shedding process.  They are also are great to rejuvenate aging skin which is exactly what I need.

What’s the serum for?

Its basically for anyone that needs something a bit more when it comes to tackling dry and dull skin. This is due to its key ingredients

The AHA in this serum is the water soluble lactic acid from yeast that creates the exfoliation action, by dissolving the bonds that hold the dead skin on the surface and improves the skin’s natural shedding process.

As well as the AHA serum contains a probiotic extract (good bacteria) helps reinforce the the skin’s natural barrier (protects against external aggressors) and has a calming effect on the skin, and Xylitol from Vegetable Bark helps optimise the skin’s water reserves for better hydration.

My thoughts?

Firstly that citrus scent which is my all time favourite is something I really love when it comes to skincare products. It actually makes me feel super happy. The serum is really lightweight and didn’t leave my skin feeling greasy at all.

I absolutely love it and will be definitely purchasing again. It makes the whokle exfoliation process so neasy and pain free. My skin felt soft and smooth giving a natural glow that I love. I actually replaced my body moisturiser on the days that I used it. My skin felt hydrated enough just using the serum.

Available online on the Ren store as well as Wooloworths as well.

As you all know I am slightly obsessed with skincare for me its the way to go for a perfect complexion. When I got invited to the GR8 Skincare launch I was super excited especially because its chemical free. Its where science meets nature. Basically meaning they are a skincare company dedicated to creating cruelty-free products that combine scientific and natural ingredients in a safe, skin-healthy way. GR8 Skin is a locally made brand, with no nasty chemicals, got the good active ingredients like Vitamin A and C and is anti oxidant rich. I got my hands on a couple of the products from the range and so far I love the products.

This South African natrural skinvare brand is definitely one of my favourites. If you haven’t seen previous posts abourt me chatting about Eco Diva then you need to get your hands on one of their products. One of my all time favs is the double diva glow kit which consists of the face serum and cream. This time I am introducing the Eco Diva Shimmer Body Butter (R385) that gives your body a natural shimmer. Love Love Love.
