The Chanel Holiday Makeup Collection Libre
This by far is one of my favourite makeup collections as I love love blue. The Chanel Holiday Makeup Collection Libre launched last month called Collection Libre Synthetic De Chanel and I am in love. The eyeshadow palette is a combination of blues and greys that really makes my eyes pop and paired with the gel liner you can’t go wrong. I finally got to play with the collection on the weekend so thought I would create the smokey eye before my party and snap some pics so I can share with you all.
This collection is the first collection libre created by Lucia Pica inspired by cityscapes and urban materials. I love the two shades of blue combined with the greys in the Architectonic palette (R1025) its perfect for creating an alternative smokey eye. Its has a really modern feel to it and I love that there is a gel liner in the collection rather than the normal eyeliners. The gel liner in Hyperblack (R560) is perfect as a base before you apply the eyeshadow to make the colours pop and then to apply the feline flick to create the extra intensity.
The Joues Contraste in hyperfresh blush (R720) is the girly element to it. Its a bright pink that you need to use sparingly. Take a blush brush and dust the excess off on the back of your hand before you apply. I like the combination of the modern shades from the palette and the pink of the blush they go well together. Its a great colour too add that extra pop of colour especially if your complexion needs a lift. This blush can be used on its own with lots of mascara and a pretty lip.
Also part of the collection are two polishes (R450) pink rubber and liquid mirror. They are both a combination of modern and girly and either can be worn on their own. The pink polish I used for a recent shoot is a pretty pink nude that has a matt finish making it modern. The grey metallic nail polish is definitely the party shade if you dare go bold. For me I would paint the tips with the polish and keen the nails clear of pair it with the pink polish so anything goes really.
For the look I applied the gel liner as my base up to the crease with a flat brush this means your eyeshadow will pop but will also last the distance. I then took the first blue shade and applied over the entire lid and then blended out the edges. I then took another blending brush and took the grey blue/shade and applied on the outer corner of the lid to create more intensity. I took the middle grey shimmer shade and applied in the centre of the lid and along the bottom lash line. For the inner corner of my eyes I took a pencil brush and used the light grey on the far end to add that highlight. I then took an eyeliner brush and applied the liner on the top lash and then finished off with mascara. I took a little of the pink blush and applied on my cheeks and kept lips nude with a Chanel clear lip gloss.
Love the collection and love how beautiful everything looks and feels. The gel liner is definitely a new favourite of mine which I think will be staying in my pesonal stash.
