My latest editorial for Marie Claire SA March issue just came out and I wanted to share the simple makeup look I created for the editorial. As the clothes were so bold I really didn’t want to take away from the prints but still wanted to the makeup to look cool and fit the look of the model Barbara. This look is an effortless khaki green smokey eye using the Clarins Pretty Day to Night palette.
For this eye look I prepped the eye using a primer as this is the best way to ensure your eyeshadow stays on longer. I then prepped the lid with the lightest shade all the way up to the crease. I took the khaki green shade with a blending brush and applied half way up the lid just focusing on the lash line area and winged out slightly. Then I took the chocolate shade and applied with an angle brush just along the lash line to give extra definition to the eyes and then finished off with lots of mascara on the top lashes. An alternative for the khaki shade if you can’t get hold of the palette any more are the Mac shadow shades that have similar green shades that you can try like Marsh that can give you a similar khaki smokey eye.
The rest of the look I kept fresh with Bobbi Brown stick foundation and kept lips nude using the Kate Moss Rimmel nude lipstick in no 43 as its literally my fav nude at the moment. Brows were filled in but still kept natural looking so the overall look was cool just like the model. Its all about easy makeup so that it looks anyonce can do it in no time at all and really is easy to recreate at home.
