My recent shoot for MRP accseeories shoot I needed to add a little pop to the makeup. We all know that MRP is a youthful brand where the models have a fresh face and never too much makeup going on. The easiest way to add a pop of colour is normally eyes, cheeks or lips. When it comes to the darker skintones a pop of colour liner really works a treat. Blue eyeliner or anything blue for the eyes has always been a favourite of mine. And guess what the drugstore brands are catching on giving us some beautiful shades and textures. So here are a few favourite blue drugstore eyeliners that I wanted to share:
For the MRP shoot I went with the Catrice Longlasting Waterproof eye pencil in Rendez – Blue (R45). Its a darker shade of blue but that still has that pop on the darker skintone. Plus being waterproof the liner will last the distance. So you can go out on a hot date or get yourself and the dancefloor and this bad boy won’t budge. Catrice is a great affordable drugstore brand that won’t break the bank plus I really like the quality. (available at Dischem)
Max Factor have launched some gorgeous liners with an amazing shade of bright blue that I have fallen in love with. The Masterpiece High Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Azure (R195) is beautiful. The shade will make your eyes totally pop and all you need is to keep the rest of your mkeup fresh. The liner applies really easily and has an easy to use applicator so no mess. Its more on the pricier side of the drugstore brands but its really worth the investment if you are looking to add a little wow to your makeup. (available at Clicks)
The new L’Oreal Infallible Gel Crayon 24 HR (R159.95) has some gorgeous new shades including the new coblat blue shade. Its my favourite shade of all three liners because I am totally obsessed with the colour. Its one that will look amazing on all skin tones plus it glides on beautifully. Its a gel texture that is waterproof and long lasting so no stress about reapplying. (available at Clicks and Dischem)
The blue eye trend is definitely one that is here to stay. Its a personal favourite and such an easy way to work colour into your makeup that isn’t too crazy. Its a look that just works and is oh so pretty so get yourself down to your local drugstore and get your hands on one of these goodies.
