The New Chanel Eye Collection
Introducing the latest new Chanel eye collection that launches in SA this month. I got to play with one of the Les 4 Ombre’s eye quads in blurry mauve, the waterproof stylo in Black Wood and Le Revolution Volume de Chanel mascara in Burgundy. The whole collection has 4 beautiful quads to choose from and then you choose the liner and mascara to match. The collection was created by Luca Pica and its all about second skin smokey using just 3 products. Its all about self expression and playing with colour. I love the colour mascara’s as it really creates an alternative to the usual black.
The 3 different products help create that blurry smokey eye look but I did something a little different with the quad and liner in this post. As I had the dark liner I worked it into both warterlines as I felt would look to heavy applying on the lids. I definitely want to get my hands on the Eros shade. It is a bright burgundy shade as this one works really well with the blurry mauve palette (R980) I got. Its all about blurring out the liner on the lids and then working the eye shadows on the top and bottom lids. But as its about self expression you can work it how you feel looks best for your eyes.
I prepped my skin with a primer and then applied one of my favs the Chanel Ultra Teint All Day Comfort Flawless Finish Foundation. This gives a gorgeous matt finish but still looks luminous.
For the eyes I took the lightest transition shade and worked it into the crease of my eyes.
I took the darkest chocolate shade and worked with a blending brush the outer corners of my eyes. This creates more intensity to the look and really helps define the eyes.
I took the gorgeous deep red shade and worked onto my lids for the pop. You can also work this on ther bottom lash line if you want more intensity. If I had the Eros liner which is a burgundy shade I would have blended the liner on my top lash and then blurred this shade over.
There are 5 Stylo Yeux (R465) in the new collection the shade dark wood is the one I am using. The liner glides on beautifully and is easy to smoke out if you want to create a dark smokey eye. Each liner has a retractable pen and integrated sharpener as well.
As its very dark brown I wanted to define the waterline. By applying in the top waterline you give the illusion of something on the top lash line without looking heavy. Sorry for the crazy eyes here its not my favourite thing to do as makes my eyes water.
The Volume Revolution de Chanel Mascara (R650) comes in 4 beautiful shades and there is no black here. I love that the collection has alternative colours definitely want to try some of the others. Its the first ever 3D printed mascara brush and offers great precision and no smudging.
Luca’s tip:
Apply extra mascara to the centre of the lashes, and remove a little from the outer edges, for a wide-eyed effect.
My shade as mentioned is 27 Deep Eros a bright burgundy which I totally love. Plus it totally compliments the eye look.
To finish off the look I applied a nude lip so as not to take anything away from the smokey eye. The shade is Boy from the Coco Rouge Flash lipstick collection.
The gorgeous Chanel eye collection launches this month so keep a watch out.
