Intoducing one of my new favs the Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet Blurring Smooth Effect Foundation SPF 15. Its the latest in their foundation offering and its gorgeous of course. The origional foundation was the Perfection Lumiere Velvet but its made a comback with a new name and finish. Am waiting to get my hands on my shade so sadly I can’t show you what it looks like on me. I did get to test it out on one of my friends and its truly beautiful on. As it says on the bottle it blurs and smooths the complexion leaving skin looking flawless and radiant. Love it.
The Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet (R835) is described as a “light weight second skin” foundation. The key to the foundation is the film forming complex that adapts to the facial contours. Giving it that second skin effect. The soft focus powders help smooth and even out giving the feeling of smaller looking pores. Plus the powders help absorb the sebum. Dark spots and redness and are smoothed away without any hint of heaviness. The foundation contains the patented Perfect Light Control Complex) a blend of two hemispherical powders) a radiance semi sheer powder and correcting powder coated in mineral pigments. Meaning the right balance of correction and matte.
Even though its a matte finish it really doesn’t dry out on the skin. Of course as I always recommend you need to have a good skincare routine so that skin is in a good condtion. I always prep my models skin to make sure that foundation blends and melts into the skin beautifully. This foundation really applies beautifully and really evens out the complexion. Perfect for normal, combination or oily skin.
What I love about the foundation is that as well as giving the skin a flawless finish it also mattifies those shiney areas on the face. The foundation also has great staying power unlike your normal liquid foundation. The second skin texture immediately adheres to the skin, so leightweight and comfortable to wear and leaves skin looking really natural.
Best way to apply is first shake the bottle first, you can apply with fingers, a sponge or a brush depending on the coverage you need. You can build this one up depending on what you are looking for. Fingers will give it a more natural look. Plus its the right size to pop into your handbag and apply if needed later in the day.
Check out the official Chanel’s video on how it looks on different complexions:
The Chanel Ultra Le Teint comes in 15 shades prettry much covering most skin tones apart from your super dark. Plus they have added in 6 new shades as well so definitely worth checking out. Of course its on the pricey side of foundations but its really a beautiful one and a great investment. I really am a massive fan of the Chanel foundations they always seem to just get it spot on.
