I have been busy testing out the latest Ren Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30 Sunscreen and so far so good. Its a 25% zinc based mattifying sunscreen with broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection, blue light protection, with non nano technology and its vegan. I don’t normally go for mattifying face sunscreens because usually I am all about the glow but it actually is a good one for me. I put it to the test yesterday on insta stories to see how it looked and felt. Not sure how great it will be on a dark skin tone so still need to put that one to the test.

The Ren Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30 sunscreen (R660) is silicone free plus being a clean skin care brand its going to be good for your skin. For those of you who have sensitive skin this one is for you too as there are no chemical filters. Now I have combination skin so I get oily in some places and dry in others. As I said I don’t normally go for a matt based sunscreen but actually it feels good on my skin. I have an extensive skincare routine so by the time I get to putting the sunscreen on my face has some major glow happening.

As mentioned earlier the formula has everything you need in a sunscreen and I love that it disn’t sit on my skin. Plus with the of passion fruit extract it supports your skin’s own antioxidant defence against free radicals for an all year round sun and pollution. What makes it different from the sunscreens out there is the inclusion or rice starch a translucent powder that controls the shine, plus pore perfecting powders that absorb the oil and doesn’t leave a greasy finish.

If you go check out my video on insta you can see that it didn’t totally matt out my skin. It did take the shine down a bit though. Plus when it came to putting my foundation on my skin still looked great. There was no white residue from the zinc and my skin still had a lovely glow without shine. My Chanel Aqua Vitalumiere foundation blended in beautifully so its a thumbs up from me.

The sunscreen is thick so you really need to massage it in. It did easily absorb into my skin after a couple minutes and a little goes a long way. I think the fact that it has a matt effect meant my skin didn’t get any extra shine so thats good. I don’t know if its a great one for winter as my skin can get dehydrated. However, its perfect for me as I live in Cape Town ands its hot for at least 7 months of the year.

I love that the brand is so respectful of the planet and that its a clean skincare brand. Ren are known for their fight against plastics with its Clean Planet Plan. The tube itself is made from 50% post-consumer recycled plastic, while the cap is 100% recycled, and their choice of a purely mineral sunscreen filter really shows their dedication to the cause.

Available online on the Ren store its definitely one to check out.
