I was asked a month ago to take part in a trial to test out the Pantene Sleek and Smooth range and give back honest feedback on what I thought. I am always on the look out for good shampoo and conditioners because I constantly blow dry my locks and need all the love I can get.
Research shows from renowned Trichologist Dr Gray that your hair gets damaged when you use normal tap water because of the minerals found have a negative effect on your hair over time. The minerals and levels of copper erode the hair’s vital protein layer, leaving holes in the hair a condition called Protein-Porosis, which basically means hair is left brittle and more prone to breakage. Pantene’s new ranges has a new ground breaking formula with damage blockers so even if you wash your hair every day your hair is protected against the damage by reducing the levels of copper and making hair look healthier after each wash.
So what did I think?
Some shampoo’s tend to make my hair greasy because I have fine hair so I do get worried that my hair is going to be greasy by the evening so I need moisture but I also need to tame my crazy hair because I blow dry at 3 times a week to style my frizzy hair so its a catch 22.
There is a whole range including a smooth and sleek (R66.99) mask and a smooth and sleek cream (56.99) the 24hr frizz fighter to style hair after shampoo and conditioner but I just got the shampoo and conditioner to test out. Even after the first use I was surprised my hair felt really good and definitely a little fuller. There is nothing worse than a shampoo that makes hair flat so I am always on the hunt for a product that will give volume and love into my damaged locks plus take away the terrible frizz.
The smooth and sleek shampoo 2-1 (R42.99) really did add love to my hair as it cleans and nourishes at the same time and the conditioner (R42.99) left my hair feeling really smooth and soft. After blow drying my hair, it looked glossy and full of life so pretty impressed for such a good value brand.
If your hair really is in bad condition Dr Gray gives us some tips:
- Twice a week do not to use a tong or hair dryer and let hair dry naturally to let hair build up naturally. Or if you really have to use it then turn on a low heat and not to be on hair more than 5 seconds at a time.
- Don’t brush your hair when its wet because it will cause spilt ends but if you need to detangle use a wide tooth comb starting from the bottom up.
- Cut your hair every 6-10 weeks.
There are 8 ranges in the Pantene collection for every hair type so definitely one to go check out.
