Yes the weather is finally changing to gorgeous summer days and while some of you might me thinking I am so pale and tired its time to step it up. There are a few ways to get that gorgeous summer glowing skin to help you on your way and remember its not always beauty products you also need to eat right and get your water dosage in too. A good skincare routine is important plus a few makeup items as well. So here are my tips on how to get your summer glow on:
1.Exfoliate Exfoliate Exfoliate: There is no way around this just do it and you don’t have to spend a load of cash there are loads of budget brands out there that have good exfoliators. Clicks offer a range of great brands like Avene and Eucerin where you can purchase an exfoliator without breaking the bank.
2. I have a few masks that do the trick for me to get a good glow and remember twice a week if you can. I love my Dermalogica Hydrating Skin masque and Filorga Scrub and Mask and the Kiehls Tumeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque. Body Shop also have some goodies as well if you are on more of a budget look for nourishing and hydrating when you go purchase one.
3. I love hydrating serum and its an important one for me when I am getting myself ready and my models. I am totally obsessed with the Mac Lightful C Marine Bright Formula Essence it just boosts the skin with a whole load of moisture. A great budget serum is the Avene Hydrance Serum its been my personal go to the last couple of months.
4.Face mists are such an easy way to get that summer glow on and the great thing about them is you can spritz throughout the day to get the dewy look back. I like to spritz before I apply makeup and then a few hours later. There are so many on offer now such as woolworths own Finishing Spray, Beauty Fix is amazing for hydration, Dermalogica Antioxidant Mist, Clarins Fix Spray and of course the Mac Fix+ is a goodie.
5. Get your oils on either day or night unless you have oily skin. There are literally so many to choose from, Kiehls have an amazing ones from the recovery midnight oil to their daily reviving concentrate. I just received an amazing one from Dermalogica which will definitely give me that extra summer glow the Phyto Replenising Oil is amazing but not cheap. The Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil is a goodie for a gorgeous summer glow.
6.A strobe cream or highlighter that you can mix into your foundation really helps you cheat that glow. The Revlon Skinlights is your best drugstore option I absolutely love it and Mac do their strobe cream that you can apply to key areas of the face or add a tiny amount into your foundation and voila you got your glow on. Powder highlighters are great but if you going for a more natural look then cream all the way.
7. Gloss those lips whether its a clear gloss, a colour or a balm like Elizabeth Arden 8HR Cream this will definitely give an extra iilusion for that summer glow.
