So this week in particular has been pretty crazy and trying to juggle being a make up artist and beauty blogger can make things a bit nuts but so much fun. So what have I been up to?
Monday – So on Monday I filmed my promo video for my Youtube Channel and 4 video’s in studio for the first time. I was approached by a production company Buchanan Productions who wanted to film my video’s for free and take part in their young mum’s channel. I was nervous to start with but in the end had a lot of fun and met some great people. It was weird to have all the atention on me but in the end I had fun. Watch this space for the video’s on how to create that healthy glow, the perfect red lip, smokey eye with the Stila palette and the trend orange lip with a bronzed eye.
Tuesday: I did hair and make up for Fairlady magazine for their main fashion story which was all about accessories shot in studio. The make up was fresh paired with a coral lip and the hair was textured. I made sure the skin was dewy and prepped the model’s face with the Charlotte Tilbury magic cream so that the foundation looked flawless and highlighted above the cheek bone, on the bridge of the nose and the cupids bow. For the hair I spritzed with Wella heat spray and Philip Kingsley Weatherproof hairspray and blow dryed first and then took 1 inch sections with a tong to create the texture.
In the evening I attended a Kiehl’s event called Ride for Life that the PR agency had organised for charity. I got to meet lots of great people and hung out with my favourite Azeez the Fashion editor from Men’s Health, Jean Cupido who does the social media for Associated magazines and the gorgeous Jana Jubert who does the beauty and fashion for Women24.com.
Wednesday: I met with Jana to plan filming video tutorials for women24.com and then rushed to Shimmy Beach club to a Clarins launch where they went through all of their amazing new products coming out. The make up is beautiful and the skincare that is being launched is really amazing. Watch this space for my reviews and make up tutorials.
Thursday: I did hair and make up for a lingerie story for Balanced Life which is part of the Foschini Group. We were in a house by Llundudo looking out to sea creating some beauty magic with Rochelle the fashion editor and Lauren Watters the beauty editor as well as blogger of dearheartbeauty.com.
Friday: My week finished off with a bang as I did make up for my first Elle Magazine SA beauty shoot. The day was amazing and the 2 girls were stunning one of them Hilda is one of the faces of Lancome worldwide so I was very lucky. We did 5 make up looks from a wet undone grunge somkey eye to a perfectly sculpted face and the amazing Kevin Epstein did 5 hair changes it was amazing. I got to play with some of my favourite products like the Chanel Healthy Glow Powders and the Charlotte Tilbury Limited Edition Bar of Gold Highlighter.
So here is my week its been crazy but so fun. I got to play with some amazing new products and work with amazing people.
Hope you enjoyed my post. x
